The brand Clifton belongs to Mr. Kurt Bauereiß who is a professional guitar player and the founder of Streetlife-Studios e.K. in Germany.Together with another musician Roland Haering, Kurt Bauereiß founded the Streetlife-Studios in 1994 to do business in music recording and performing, as well as producing CDs, teaching books and DVDs. After 20 years Streelife-Studios became one of the largest music studios in Europe, and is working with many renowned musicians worldwide.

At the beginning of 2000s, it was expensive to learn to play musical instruments in Europe, and Kurt wished to make it easier and affordable. Benefitted from his own experience of producing teaching books and CDs as a musician, he began to re-design the musical instruments to meet the needs of beginning learners, and introduced a business model to sell low cost but high quality instruments with learning books and Karaoke CDs. He persuaded the big European retail chain stores such as Lidl, Aldi, Norma, etc. to sell his musical instruments, and finally succeeded. Every year tens of thousands of musical instruments under the brand name Clifton were sold through these retail stores to the music lovers in many countries in Europe. The Clifton musical instruments are user-friendly to beginners, and well balanced between quality and affordability.

Other than running the Streetlife-Studios, Mr. Kurt Bauereiß is also the owner of the band Brunhilde featuring with industrial punk rock, and in which he is an active guitarist.
